Art Classes

  • Grades 3-5 - Saturdays, 9:30-10:30, with Nicole
  • Grades 1-2 - Saturdays, 11:00-12:00, with Nicole
  • Kindergarten & 4-5-year-olds - Wednesdays, 4:00-5:00, with Nicole
  • 3-4-year-olds, Parent-Child class - Wednesdays, 10:00-10:45, with Nicole

Drawing Classes

  • Grades 6-10 - Mondays, 6:00-7:00, with Ashley
  • Grades 3-5 - Mondays, 4:45-5:45, with Ashley
  • Grades 1-2 - Mondays, 3:30-4:30, with Ashley - FULL
  • Grades 1-2 - Mondays, 5:30-6:30, with Nicole

All online classes are LIVE via Zoom. Classes are organized into sessions, usually by month. Sign up and pay for each month/session at a time.

Trial classes - if you are not sure how your child will do, you can pay for one class to try it.

To register for a class, email info@youngatartworkshop.com with your child's name, age, class time and day, and an email address for the Zoom invite.


Class Descriptions, Dates, & Prices

Art for Grades 3-5 
We will make bright, bold art, based on contemporary artist's styles and techniques. We will layer materials and combine methods. We will use materials found around your house to create unique sculptures.

Saturdays, 9:30-10:30, with Nicole:
January 2, 9, 16, 23, 30 - $112
February 6, 13, 20, 27 - $90
March 6, 13, 20, 27 - $90

Art for Grades 1-2
This class uses a variety of media, including watercolor, tempera paint, crafting materials, glue, colored paper, scissors, pencils, cray pas/oil pastels, or crayons, and markers.

Art for 4-5-year-olds & Kindergarten
Children build fine motor skills in this class by painting, gluing, cutting, and molding. They learn the fundamentals of art, starting with shape identification and color mixing. Make fun projects that kids can play with afterwards.

Art for 3-4-year-olds, Parent-Child Class
A caregiver is required to participate in this class and assist their budding artist. Explore different shapes, textures, and materials. Get messy with hands-on projects. Learn to identify colors, shapes, and textures in this class. Make fun age-appropriate projects that excite the children's interests.

Drawing for Grades 1-2
Students learn the elements of fine art - line, shape, color, form, space, value, and texture. They learn how to draw what they see and not just to draw from their imagination, although both concepts are valued. The class is mainly taught using pencil, sometimes adding color with pastels, colored pencil, art markers, or watercolor

Study of hands

Drawing for Grades 3-5
Students enhance their ability to use line, shape, form, and space. They learn proportionality and one point perspective. They begin to study shading, light, and shadow. The class is taught using pencil and sometimes pastels, colored pencil, art markers, or watercolors. No experience is required.

Drawing for Grades 6-10
Students learn how to manipulate line, shape, color, space, and texture, in order to render realistic objects and scenes. Projects include still life, portraits, figure drawing, and landscape, using charcoal, pencil, marker, pen, pastels, and other media. No experience is required. Students will be pushed to excel at their own rate.
