Registration & Payment
Payment is required to register for a class, camp, or workshop. Your spot in a class is not guaranteed until we receive payment.
You can pay by credit card by calling 914-723-9229 or emailing firstname.lastname@example.org
. We can send you an email with a link to pay by credit card online. We are not able to accept payment through our website. We also accept checks (payable to Young at Art Studio Inc.) or cash.
A week before the class you have registered for, you will receive a Welcome email with details about the class. If you do not get a Welcome email, please check your spam folder, and then call 914-723-9229.
Refunds or credits are available when a child withdraws from a semester class within the first two weeks of signing up. Refunds and credits must be requested in writing via email. A processing fee of $50 for semester classes will be deducted from each refund or credit.
A refund or credit must be requested at least 24-hours in advance of the start day and time of the class that you want a refund or credit for. The 24-hour period is only calculated during business days, Monday-Friday. For classes on Mondays, the request must be made on the Friday before or sooner.
Refunds and credits will not be granted for missed classes. Semester fees cannot be prorated based on classes that you know your child will miss.
Holiday Workshops, Family Sundays, & Create Nights
NO REFUNDS or credits are available for Holiday Workshops, Family Sundays, or Create Nights.
Weeklong camps require a 1-week advance notice of withdraw in order to be eligible for a refund or credit. Refunds and credits must be requested in writing via email. A processing fee of $50 will be deducted from each refund or credit.
When credit is issued, it is issued for the family and may be transferred among family members. Credit is not transferable to people outside of your immediate family. We maintain a list of credit issued to families in our office.
If your child is sick or has a contagious disease, please do not bring them to class. If they have a fever or have had a fever, please wait until they have been fever free for 24 hours before bringing them to art class. Please only bring children to class when they have enough energy to participate in class. It is not fair to the child to sit in a class when they are tired, rundown, or cannot focus.
Unfortunately, we cannot offer refunds or credits due to classes missed because of an illness. All children get sick several times a year and have to miss classes. Financially, it is not feasible to offer refunds and credits to each student.
Make Up Classes
For children in grades K-5, we have Open Studio time on Fridays from 4:00-6:00pm. You may make up a missed class for free during this time. This is the only time we have available for make ups. We request that you call ahead to let us know that you are coming to Open Studio. If your child has missed work from their class, they can work on it at this time. If not, they can participate in free painting during the first hour of Open Studio time and a craft project during the second hour of Open Studio. Open Studio time is available for any child aged 5-11 at a fee of $50.
For children enrolled in a Mommy/Daddy & Me class (Art Sensory Play or Creative Art), you may schedule a free make up class in our Wednesday morning 10:00-11:00 class whenever you choose or you can come to another Mommy/Daddy & Me class during the same week of the class you missed. You must pre-register for a make up. Any child may attend a Wednesday morning class at any time for a fee of $25 as long as they pre-register for the date they want to take the class.
Semester fees cannot be prorated based on classes that you know your child will miss.
Trial classes are available to students new to Young at Art for a fee of $20, when the class is not full and when a class is at the beginning of a new project. Trial classes must be scheduled ahead of time by calling 914-723-9229. Walk-ins cannot be accommodated.
and Open Studios are a great way to get to know Young at Art. When workshops used as trial classes must pay the full amount
for the workshop.
Walk-ins are not permitted. You MUST pre-register for a trial, a semester class, drop in Open Studio, make up, camp, or workshop. We cannot accommodate walk-ins. Space and materials are limited.
Dress for Mess
Please make sure that your child is dressed in clothing that can get messy. We allow children to get totally immersed in their artwork. We offer children the opportunity to make art in a way they could not do at home or at school. They often come home covered in dried paint, glue, and glitter. We do try to clean them up as best a possible before they go home. We do not use smocks because they only cover part of the children's bodies and many children find them uncomfortable and hard to move around in. Part of making art is getting messy. We want our children to have an unhindered experience.
The paint we use says that it is washable and comes out of clothing, however, that has not always been our experience. Some colors do not always wash out of clothes. It is best if you designate art clothes for your child and have them wear those clothes each week to Young at Art. We also have Young at Art T-shirts you can purchase at the studio, if desired.

Before the start of each class, parents must fill out an Emergency Contact Form for each student. A child cannot be dropped off without a completed Emergency Contact Form. Click here to download the form
Cancellation of Class for the Semester
Young at Art Studio Inc. reserves the right to cancel a class due to low enrollment. In the case of a cancellation, the full amount paid for the class will be refunded. If the class has already begun, a prorated amount based on the number of classes held will be granted.
Cancellation of Class due to Inclement Weather
If a class must be cancelled due to bad weather, you will be contacted via text or email as soon as possible and at least 1 hour prior to class. Cancelled classes will be rescheduled at the end of the semester or, if that is not possible, a credit will be issued for the next semester. There will be no refunds for classes cancelled due to bad weather.
Young at Art Studio Inc. will not share any of your personal information with other individuals, companies, or any type of entity.
By registering in a class, camp, or workshop, you waive any and all liability against Young at Art Studio Inc. for injury, illness, loss of property, or any other form of loss.
Although we offer classes outside of these hours and on weekends, there may not be someone available to answer the phone and take questions or register students outside of these hours. Our teachers try their best to answer the phone during classes, in case a parent of a child in the class is calling. If you need to reach your child or the teacher and they do not answer the phone during class, please try again. Teachers need to tend to the children first, but they will eventually pick up the phone.
