Registration Information & YAA Policies

Registration & Payment

Payment is required to register for a class, camp, or workshop. Your spot in a class is not guaranteed until we receive payment.

You can pay by credit card by calling 914-723-9229 or emailing We can send you an email with a link to pay by credit card online. A 3% fee will be added to all credit card transactions. You can avoid this fee by paying by check (payable to Young at Art Studio, Inc.) or cash. We are not able to accept payment through our website.

A week before the class you have registered for, you will receive a Welcome email with details about the class. If you do not get a Welcome email, please check your spam folder, and then call 914-723-9229.

Refund Policy

Semester Classes

Refunds or credits are available when a child withdraws from a semester class. Refunds and credits must be requested in writing via email at least 48-hours in advance of the start of the next class that you are seeking a refund for.The 48-hour period is calculated during business days, Monday-Friday. For classes on Mondays, the request must be made on the Friday before or sooner.

Refunds and credits will not be granted for missed classes. Semester fees cannot be prorated based on classes that you know your child will miss.

As with all refunds, a $50 non-refundable processing fee applies.  

Workshops, Camps, & Family Sundays

Only credit can be issued for workshops, camps, or Family Sundays, as the non-refundable $50 processing fee is usually more or equal to thee cost of the class. You must request a credit via email at least 24-hours in advance of the day and time of the Workshop, Camp, or Family Sunday. The 24-hour period is calculated during business days, Monday-Friday. For classes on Mondays, the request must be made on the Friday before or sooner.

Credits will not be granted for missed Workshops, Camps, or Family Sundays. Once the date has passed, credits are no longer available. 

Non-refundable processing fee

A non-refundable processing fee of $50 will be deducted from all refunds.


Credit may be issued instead of a refund. There is no processing fee applied when credit is issued. When credit is issued, it is issued for the family and may be transferred among family members or to friends. We maintain a list of credit issued to families in our office

Birthday party deposit

In order to reserve a date for a birthday party, a non-refundable deposit of $50 is required. This deposit cannot be refunded or issued as credit for the future. It is applied toward the total cost of the party.

Sick Policy

If your child is sick or has a contagious disease, please do not bring them to class. If they have a fever or have had a fever, please wait until they have been fever free for 24 hours before bringing them to art class. Please only bring children to class when they have enough energy to participate in class. It is not fair to the child to sit in a class when they are tired, rundown, or cannot focus.

Unfortunately, we cannot offer refunds or credits due to classes missed because of an illness. All children get sick several times a year and have to miss classes. Financially, it is not feasible to offer refunds and credits to each student.

Cancellation of Class due to Inclement Weather

If a class must be cancelled due to bad weather, you will be contacted via text or email as soon as possible and at least 1 hour prior to class. Semester classes cancelled due to weather will be rescheduled at the end of the semester on the snow make up date that has been set aside for that class. Unfortunately, we are unable to offer more than one make up date per class in a semester. There will be no refunds or credits for classes cancelled due to bad weather, regardless of how many classes need to be cancelled in the semester.

Students enrolled in Workshops, Camps, and Family Sundays that are cancelled due to bad weather will receive a credit.

Make Up Classes

Unfortunately, we can only offer make ups when a child misses a class for semester classes that run multiple times a week. Currently, only the Mommy/Daddy & Me, Art Sensory Play, classes are repeated several times a week. Make ups must be scheduled ahead of time. Please call the office to let us know which day you would like to do a make up. 

It is not possible for a child to do a make up in a class that has a different focus, syllabus, or age group than the one they are enrolled in. 

Semester fees cannot be prorated based on classes that you know your child will miss.

Trial classes

Trial classes are available to students new to Young at Art for a fee of $20, when the class is not full and when a class is at the beginning of a new project. Trial classes must be scheduled ahead of time by calling 914-723-9229. Walk-ins cannot be accommodated.

Workshops are also a great way to get to know Young at Art. When workshops used as trial classes must pay the full amount for the workshop.


Walk-ins are not permitted. You MUST pre-register for a trial, a semester class, make up, camp, or workshop. We cannot accommodate walk-ins. Space and materials are limited.

Dress for Mess

Please make sure that your child is dressed in clothing that can get messy. We allow children to get totally immersed in their artwork. We offer children the opportunity to make art in a way they could not do at home or at school. They often come home covered in dried paint, glue, and glitter. We do try to clean them up as best a possible before they go home. We do not use smocks because they only cover part of the children's bodies and many children find them uncomfortable and hard to move around in. Part of making art is getting messy. We want our children to have an unhindered experience.

The paint we use says that it is washable and comes out of clothing, however, that has not always been our experience. Some colors do not always wash out of clothes. It is best if you designate art clothes for your child and have them wear those clothes each week to Young at Art. We also have Young at Art T-shirts you can purchase at the studio, if desired.

Emergency Contact Forms

Before the start of each class, parents must fill out an Emergency Contact Form for each student. A child cannot be dropped off without a completed Emergency Contact Form. Click here to download the form.

Cancellation of Class for the Semester

Young at Art Studio Inc. reserves the right to cancel a class due to low enrollment. In the case of a cancellation, the full amount paid for the class will be refunded. If the class has already begun, a prorated amount based on the number of classes held will be granted.

Privacy Policy

Young at Art Studio Inc. will not share any of your personal information with other individuals, companies, or any type of entity.

Liability Release

By registering in a class, camp, or workshop, you waive any and all liability against Young at Art Studio Inc. for injury, illness, loss of property, or any other form of loss.

Business Hours

Monday-Friday, 9:00am-5:00pm

Although we offer classes outside of these hours and on weekends, there may not be someone available to answer the phone and take questions or register students outside of these hours. Our teachers try their best to answer the phone during classes, in case a parent of a child in the class is calling. If you need to reach your child or the teacher and they do not answer the phone during class, please try again. Teachers need to tend to the children first, but they will eventually pick up the phone.
