Project Descriptions

Toy Story

In both classes, the children will make their own version of the character Forky. In the morning, the preschoolers will make Buzz Lightyear wings to wear. In the afternoon the elementary school children will learn to draw their favorite characters and paint a setting for them.

Spring Wreath

We will make artsy flowers and leaves using tissue paper, fabric, beads, and similar items. We will collage them onto a wreath, along with other spring-like materials to create a colorful decoration. (No painting)

Outer Space

Together we will paint a giant outer space mural with stars and planets. The kids will glue together and decorate a rocket ship puppet to play with. (Messy)

Pop Art Mosaic

We will cut up popular candy and cereal boxes, like M&Ms and Cheerios, and glue them onto a background in unusual ways. (No painting)

Play Food/ Mini Landscape in an Altoid Tin

In the morning class, preschoolers will create play food to bring home out of foam, yarn, glue, beads, pom-poms, and other materials.

In the afternoon class, students will create a tiny outdoor scene inside an Altoid Tin. It's art that fits in your pocket.

Pet Houses

The children will paint and decorate a mini house for their puppet pet. Pets will be made out of cardboard, felt, and fur. There will be a selection of options to choose from to make puppies, kittens, bunnies, and other small domestic animals.
